Some thoughts from the artist:
The Abyss has been calling to me for a long time, and I have been trying to ignore it. I hadn’t been in my studio for weeks prior to starting this piece because of a creative block, crazy schedules, utter lack of energy, and all the other excuses. But a few of my closest people reminded me that some of my best work is when I allow myself to tap into whatever The Abyss is stirring. To not ignore it or fear it.
